Hi all

Using item variants is a great feature except for the lack of visibility of variant cost. Is there a table or any way to show item variant cost - on the item card it shows the average cost of the item but there is no other way to find the cost by variant except running a report

With out customization there is no way. If i should design a customization around it i think i would consider adding a fact box to the item page or the item list page that could show average cost for every variant.

I have done similar things when it comes to showing purchase prices and sales prices so you don't have to go to the price list to see that info.

Hi, Here is a slightly simpler method, using Physical Inventory Journals.

Select Items Not on Inventory when running Calculate Inventory.

Hi

If you click on the Inventory Quantity you get a report of all the activity on that Item. This includes costs that have been GRV'd. I find this report helpful in understanding the costings of variants. The report can be exported to Excel for further analysis.

Hi Samantha,

Yes. There is a way to show the item cost per variant in NAV/BC.

But first, you need to setup the system to be able to compute the cost into item variant level with the "Average Cost Calc. Type" field "Inventory Setup" table.

Once setup is done. item ledger Entries can show the average item cost per variant level for the transactions that are posted after the setup was done.

Never considered this report and option but good ..
