If you are using CRM 2011 on-premise version and have crm 4.0 organization database , you could import organization into CRM 2011 that will bring both customization and data without need for any data migration.
Here are the steps to import crm 4.0 organization to crm 2011.
1. Take the full backup of CRM 4.0 organization database.
2. If you already have crm 2011 installed, restore the database on crm 2011 sql server
3. Using CRM deployment manager , right click on organizations and select import organization
This process is very simple compared to migrating data using any tool or custom code.
