Adding SmartList Column Options

Hello all!

I'd like to create a Sales SmartList in GP so I can see all items purchased by order over a specific time. The issue is the available "Column" options I can add in the SmartList does not include a data string that displays the item's manufacturer item number. It displays the item number we've assigned to it for our own purposes, but we need the manufacturer item number visible when making our own orders.

We know this data string exists because it's available in other SmartList reports (such as purchasing and inventory), it simply isn't an option an add for sales reports. Is there a way we can add this as an option?

I appreciate any insight.

Well, the manufacturer item number is provided on the inventory level, if you go to items smart lists you will be able to add this piece of information.

On the purchasing level, you get get all the details regarding your purchases for both your own item number and vendor item number.

Of course, you can still take into consideration that it doesn't take much to customize any preferred report to gather data across all the modules to meet the requirements of your business.

Please never hesitate to share any further inquires,

Thanks for the feedback Mahmoud. I suppose that answers my question, but it is not a very satisfying answer. Why in the world would something as important as Manufacturer's Item Number not be considered to be part of a Sales Transaction SmartList? I understand the newest version of GP resolves this, but it doesn't do our company any good while using the 2010 edition.

Is there another way I can generate a report in 2010 GP that lists items purchased with their associated order number over a set period time, with the manufacturer's item number as well?

    RE: Adding SmartList Column Options

The main purpose of my question was was to determine whether you have GP 2013 SP2 or not, because it would have provided an added value through the smart list designer. It would have enabled you to create new smart lists based on existing smart lists.

This piece of information is not available on the Sale's Transactions window. Therefore, you will need to consider customized report to meet this purpose.

Most importantly, Manufacturer's Item number is stored in two different places, inventory and purchasing modules and it is different. You might need to take a look at this previous post regarding the manufacturer's item number for associated details; Manufacturer's Item Number . This will enable you to get the specific piece of information that you are looking for.

    Your feedback is highly appreciated,
