Microsoft Dynamics GP (Archived)

GP 2013 SP2 (12.00.1570) "Your attempt to log out of Microsoft Dynamics GP failed..."

The following errors occur if changing users without closing the GP client.  The steps to reproduce are to log in to GP with one user, select change user, and enter new user credentials.  The customer was just upgraded from GP 2010.

This happens on all machines.  I saw another user had resolved a similar problem by creating a new ODBC DSN, but that didn't work.  I can't identify anything relevant in a DEXSQL.LOG or SQL Profiler trace.  ACTIVITY, DEX_SESSION, and DEX_LOCK have all been cleared.  When the error occurs, the user is not in ACTIVITY, so the first user is apparently being logged out far enough to remove their record from ACTIVITY, but I can't determine why it won't log the second user in.

I have created a test DYNAMICS.SET file that does not contain any third party products, but that hasn't helped.

In our case, the issue was caused by installing eOne SmartList Builder for GP 2013 R2, but the GP installation was GP 2013 SP1.  We followed eOne's instructions for removing SmartList Builder, and then installed the GP 2013 SP1 version to resolve the issue.  Does this fit your configuration?

Did you ever get this issue resolved? We are having the same issue.

To me this sounds like if the user is not in the Activity table something is closing their connection. Could be network problem have you done any netmon tracing? When a users connects to GP you can go into SQL and run SP_WHO2 and see their connection along with the SPID number. Once they get this error go run the same script and see if the information is the same.

Are they using any type of VPN software? Have you checked for TCP Chimney is disabled?
