I've a client currently using SL7.0FP1 with SQL2008SP3 on a Windows 2008 server. He'd like to upgrade in place to Windows 2016 Server. I haven't found anything online regarding feasibility or "gotchas." Has anyone done/attempted this? If so, what were the results?
Thanks in advance!

Hi Stuart,
Thank you for your question. SQL2008SP3 is not supported on Windows 2016 server. SL7.0FP1 is no longer supported on any server type. If your client wants to upgrade to Windows 2016 Server I suggest they upgrade both SQL and Dynamics SL so all products will be supported sand will function properly. Please see the below link for an article on requirements and compatibility.

Thank you,

Not sure if you were truly answering my question or another, Manuel. In my case, the full version of SL7.0FP1 is already installed on the server. They'd just like to upgrade it from Windows Server 2008 to Windows Server 2016 using the same hardware. My question is how will that impact the SQL and SL installation? Will they continue to work?
Hi, try this
change the IP for the IP from the server dynamics SL is installed
run cmd as administrator, then try to install the SL client
NET USE S: \\192.168.100.5\DynSl7 /PERSISTENT:YES
