2012R3 Newest Kernel Hotfix 6.3.2000.2951

Hi All,

one simple question: I have detected a new kernel hofix 3069130 which handles client table cache issues in AUC file.

Is it secure to install this fix (for test purpose) in an 2012R3CU8+ Environment?

My question is due to the internal version of the fix

It is 6.3.2000.2952. The latest known fixes were versioned 6.3.1000.xxxx (I think the last was 6.3.1000.2867). Is this already some CU9 kernel?

Any known issues using this 6.3.2000 kernels with R3/CU8?

regards

Douglas

    Hi Douglas,

Kernel updates are compatible with older application versions, as long as the versions are only different because of a CU.

    blogs.msdn.com/.../faq-ax-kernel-hotfixes.aspx

So I would say you can run a CU9 Kernel with a CU8 application.

    Hi Douglas,

As it is listed on LCS and available for download this kernel build is compatible for all AX 2012 R3 versions.

This build has not been listed yet on the next site which should contain up to date information. blogs.msdn.com/.../overview-of-ax-build-numbers.aspx

As the version contains 6.3.2000 I do share your thoughts that it could be related to a CU9 preparation, but that is not confirmed by Microsoft. Also the mentioned site still has no data given when they expect to release CU9.

    Thanks all,

I think, that the kernel will be compatible to all R3 applications. But maybe 'something other' was changed like with the beginning of the 6.3.1000.xxxxx kernels. They aöso could be used with an R3(NonCU8) installation, but ....

you have to use another report viewer, another visualstudio ans so on.

Hope that will not happen again with the 2000s

    regards

    Douglas
