GP Project Accounting: Opening an project again after it is closed through Project Closing window.

We have a situation: We have opened a project in GP, created a budget for it, entered cost transaction. Made billings and RR transactions, Posted cash receipts and applied. And finally we closed the project through Project closing window. Now my questions is that what if we missed any cost transaction to be entered and posted, can we again open the project and go through the whole process till closing?

    Indeed you may reopen a closed project, but you need to make sure that the related contract is open first.

    Yes, You can still post transactions once project is closed.

    Steps are:

    • Change the status of contract to OPEN,
    • Change the status of Project to OPEN,
    • Unchecked 'Closed to Project Costs' & 'Closed to Billings' fields (if billing also required) on 'Contract Maintenance' & 'Project Maintenance' Windows,
    • Finally Change status of Cost Categories to OPEN, where recording of costs are required.
