Edit Opportunity fields after the Opportunity is closed

Hello. We are using CRM online version 9.

I need to implement following:

We have Invoice field associated with the Opportunity. Usually the Invoice details are filled after the Opportunity is closed either by reopening the Opportunity or by Import/Export.

Is there any way, we can fill in the details after the Opportunity is closed? 

I was thinking of creating a whole new form and linking the Opportunity with the new form which will have invoice details.

Or can an opportunity be closed in 2 stages? First stage it would be closed partially and then after filling the invoice details, closed totally.

Any help would be appreciated.

    You can use workflow yo update details of the closed (Won/Lost) opportunities.

    Hi. I believe my requirement is misunderstood. I am not after updating bulk records.

    User needs to update an Invoice field after every opportunity is closed.

    One opportunity can have multiple invoices as well in 6 or 12 months.

    Could you please elaborate. I understand I can update the fields but how will I catch User's input and then update the field with the Input value?

    Hi Huzefa,

    If you need to capture user's input then your initial though of creating fields is correct. However, once the opportunity is closed, you can't update it. So like you said in your questions, you might need to have some intermediary closed status and then the final/actual close.

    You cannot update an opportunity from UI if it is closed (the out of box Won/Lost status). You will need to have additional option in the active state and then use some script to make the fields read only.

    Sorry but can you share some more details on your requirement? As you mentioned, you can have multiple invoices for an opportunity. Do you want to close opportunity when you create the first invoice? Or is it like after some specific number of invoices? What & when you ant to update the opportunity?

    Each opportunity may contain one or more invoices. Invoices come us when an Opportunity is closed (Almost everytime). As of now whenever an invoice comes to us, we reopen the Opportunity and add the Invoice number in the field and close the opportunity again.

    I am looking for a way in which users can add the invoice number to the field without reopening the opportunity.
