Hotfix KB2390372 won't run when I try to run the pre-requisite routines for a development version of AX2012 R2

Hi guys,

I've been trying for ages to install a development version of AX2012 R2. All the pre-requisites "PASS" except for Hotfix KB2390372.

I'm running the set-up for single machine deployment

I get a message "KB2390372v2 does not apply, or is blocked by another condition on your computer".

I'm using dot net 4.5

It's so frustrating as all other checks pass OK. 

39 PASS and 1 FAIL (KB2390372)

Is anyone able to help?

    Hopefully someone come across this issue even in year 2019 and get it solve. 

    I am trying install Dynamics AX 2012 on Windows server 2008 R2 . 

    Firstly you have to enable .net 3.5 from the Windows system features and run the setup  .

    I also stuck in the prerequisite validation when installing AOS by hotfix KB2390372 of .net4 need to be installed .

    Microsoft has removed the link to download, luckily someone still keeps it  , please check the link to download the hotfix.

    Then you will get error of "hotfix does not apply, or is blocked by another condition on your computer." when you run the hotfix. 

    You have to disable the .net 3.5 from system feature first . 

    Install full versioin of Microsoft .NET Framework 4 (Standalone Installer) , please check the link to download.

    After install .net 4 full version , you should be able to run the hotfix .

    At the end , go back to re enable .net 3.5 from the system feature and run the setup . 

    this work for me .

    The SQL server instance domain I'm using is MIBIS2014, but the results of the query returned the below ...

    kindly run the below query on your SQL server and observe the results

    are those matching with you local environment of AOS???

    USE MicrosoftDynamicsAX

    select NETWORKDOMAIN,NETWORKALIAS,SID,* from UserInfo

    where Id = 'Admin'

    My AX Database was set-up during the installation process.

    No. Not aware of how to do that.

    did you restored MicrosoftDynamicsAX as well?

    Yes. I restored the Contoso Retail DB earlier today.  I can use all the tables and data.

    okay, tell me something.

    did you restored demo database after installation?

    Hi Sohaib.

    I think we won't be able to resolve my issue.

    1. Initial problem -  The databases won't synchronize !

    2. Your suggestion that we make the changes manually to correct the DB synchronization problems is OK, but only if I can load the Client to get to System Administration

    3. The client won't load either from cmd prompt or clicking the AX icon. So I cannot therefore make changes via System Administration

    I think I'm therefore stuck ...   when I was so close to getting the system running :(

    I really appreciate all the time you have spent helping me with this.

    I have learned a few things from your posts. Can you advise how I now close this issue correctly bearing in mind all the advice you have offered.

    But the AX client wont run !! That's the problem !
