EU VAT Registration No. Validation Service

Hello all,

I want to use VAT Information Exchange System which is an electronic means of validating VAT identification numbers of economic operators registered in the European Union for cross-border transactions on goods and services.

I'm using standard base Business Central (tested on Business central 14 and 19.2) with default endpoint (http://ec.europa.eu/taxation_customs/vies/services/checkVatService).

Currently, unable to check VAT identification numbers -> I receive this error message: A call to System.Xml.XmlDocument.Load failed with this message: '>' is an unexpected token. The expected token is '"' or '''. Line 1, position 55.

Anybody has the same problem?

    Every national finance authority within the EU should provide its own web service for that issue too.
