Mahesh.pngHi, My colleague has downloaded a white paper named

Implementing and Updating the Human Resources Framework for Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 Applications

From Google. Now in this white paper there are few data model diagrams. I am not understanding the symbols used in this data model.

Where can I find the meaning of the symbols used in these data model diagrams?

Which notations style  type they are actually using in the White Paper?

Please help me. Thanks in advance.

This looks like an ULM diagram of some sort explaining the relationship between tables.

Like "One to Many" and so on...

Check out this and see if you can find it:

    Hi Mahesh,

This is a MS visio diagram. The notation is normally called Crows foot database notation if I recall it correctly. Take a look at below youtube video and you will get an idea:

Please let me know if you have further queries.

    Thanks,

    Baber.

Baber, (partial) in the diagram means that the diagram is partial not full I guess?

    Hi Mahesh,

Where are you referring to? Can you please paste the screen shot so that I can see ?

    Thanks,

    Baber.

Hi Baber, I am referring to the diagram I have already posted above. You can see in the above figure above in bold headings it written as

    position (partial)

Does this means that the diagram is not fully presented and it is roughly presented with few important things highlighted,(I guess)?

Got you Mahesh. I am not 100% sure, but I think MS have used the word 'Partial' because all the relationships for the entities are not being shown in the diagram. So, for example if you look at HcmEmployment table in AOT, there are four relations, but in the diagram only two relations are being shown.

    Hope it helps.

    Thanks,

    Baber.
