Hello Guys,
We have a plan to Implement CI\CD in Azure Devops in D365FO to automate package deployment. I need to confirm the below questions before I start the project.
- Is Build Server Mandatory or it can be manageable by Dev Cloud in the meaning I can use Dev cloud environment as the Build Server?
- Will Azure Hosted agents do the same job similar to Build Server ? if it does please let me know the steps to Implement Azure Hosted agent and is it free of cost ?
- Can Local OnPrem Vm be used as the Build Server?
Please let me know your thoughts. Thanks in advance.
Hi Veera seenivasan,
You can use Build VM or Hosted agent, but the hosted agent doesn't support runs for synchronization, automating testing. I believe you can use an on-premise server as a build VM, but you need to set up all components needed for build by yourself (build VM deployed from LCS is deployed with predefined components and ready to run builds right after deployment, but maybe you can copy Azure VM to local server).

Hosted agents are not free, but there is some free time for builds that is available per month.
Moved to D365FO forum.
