RE: Monitoring Voucher Input by User

    Chris,

Erich was correct in what he suggested.  Your assumption that users are not set up because nothing is showing has to be incorrect because you have to have at least the SYSADMIN user in order to even launch SL.  My first thought is that you either used the wrong quick query or you added the wrong fields.

When you open Quick Query, select AR and then select AR Documents.  Right click on any of the headers in the results panel and select Choose Columns.  The columns you want to add will be called Created User and Last Updated User.  When you select these, click the Add>> button to move them to the selected columns list and then click OK.  You will see these two added columns on the very right and the created user column, at the very least should have some sort of user id.

Now, if all your users use the same SL user credentials, knowing the created by and last modified by users will be of little use but I am assuming this is not the case.

I am thinking you might have added one or more of the user fields instead thinking this is what you wanted.  Those fields are reserved for user customizations to screens that utilize the particular table.

Thanks, Erich.  I guess our users aren't set up properly as nothing shows up when I add all the of the user columns to the query?

In general terms, this can be done through QuickQueries, available since SL 2011.

Under the Quick Queries menu, there should be queries named something like "AR Transactions", "AP Transactions", "Inventory Transactions" and so on.

The default query display doesn't normally show any user information, but if you right click on the column headers, you can show/hide additional columns. There are columns for the user who created the transaction and the last user who updated
