Hi support,

I am using Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013 with fixed Asset module. Currently we are using fixed asset to record the asset to make depreciation and to understand the current location but I want to know the facility to work this module as asset tracking system to tracking complete information of an asset such as.

To record the invoice and warranty and when they need maintenance to check there is warrenty or not if there is warrenty then we need to go via warranty

1.For each maintenance we need to record it with it invoice cost

2. Tracking complete cost of maintenance of such asset

3.Tracking complete maintenance history of this asset to take decision to replacement if there is more maintenance etc..

Kindly advise me do we have these facility in GP2013.

Thanks

Refeesh Ali

    Hi,

In order to keep the maintenance history plus all the related costs, you can use GP Field Service along with FA module.

FA will keep the assets costs, depreciation and book values.

In order to facilitate the link between FA number, use the same number in Field Service module as machine number.

Of course; there is no direct link between them.

    Thanks.

The Fixed Assets module is pretty limited out of the box to track maintenance and repairs of assets, especially if you are going to use this information to trigger service calls and enforce warranties. Your best bet is to take a look at the Equipment Management Series from Key2Act (formerly WennSoft) at www.key2act.com/field-service & Equipment Tracking
