business central gmail integration same like outlook (create orders, contact details...)

Hi guys,

I'm looking for a way to link Business Central with Gmail or integrate Gmail so that it works to the same extent as Outlook. Means to create orders, view contact details etc. directly from the email. Has anyone already done this or does anyone know a possibility?

    If you add your gmail account to Outlook and install the Outlook addin, I see no reason why it shouldn't work like it does with Exchange.

    No, it's not working. Outlook apparently recognizes that this is a non-Outlook address. The option Add-Ins is already missing. Only in the Outlook accounts I have the option to add Add-Ins

    I think you will have to open a ticket with MS to resolve this. It is possible that Outlook AddIn relies on some Exchange/O365 functionality that is not available on other mail servers.

    Yes, I think so, because a microsoft business central account should have the same access data as Outlook.

    Has this been resolved or determined it cannot be done? We are interested ind owing the same thing and wondering if it requires outlook/exchange.
