CRM 2011 on prem and Outlook 2010 client. Folders show as yellow generic folders.

I have a client where one user sees his CRM 2011 icons in Outlook 2010 as yellow folders in stead of CRM icons. The add in is connected the CRM server, the ribbon icons are active, the CRM is working in both Outlook and browser. All other users in organisation do not have this issue.

He would just like to see the icons in stead of yellow folders. Anyone has a suggestion of where I should look for the cause of this error.

Kind regards

Marianne Christensen

    Hi Marianne Christensen

My name is Andrés Guzmán, I'm glad to help you.

I really appreciate that you share with us a screenshot with the "yellow folders" that you describe.

My suggestion, even without having seen the error is remove your CRM for Outlook app from this PC, applying a full delete: dynamics-crm2011.blogspot.com/.../how-to-fully-remove-crm-client-for.html

Then, you can install again your CRM for Outlook and check if the issue was solved.

Let me know if you need additional info

    Regards,

    Hi Andrés

Here is a screenshot of the folders. The language of the Outlook client is Danish, but CRM is in English.

    Hi,

If you click on the dropdown next to the 'Short cuts' icon on the lower part of the navigation - is there a CRM folder group that you can select? The folder view that is underneath the outlook folders does not show the CRM icons - this is the case for Outlook 2013 - and I suspect it's the same for Outlook 2010.

    Hope this helps,

    Scott

    Hello Marianne,

Set Compatibility Settings for CRM Website

    1.      Open Internet Explorer.

    2.      On the Menu Bar, go to Tools>Compatibility View Settings. If the Menu bar is hidden, press ALT+T to show the Tools menu.

    3.      On the Compatibility View Settings window, type in your CRM website address and click on Add.

And also verify the Update rollup for CRM client for outlook, it should be same as you have for CRM server.

    Thank you.

    Hi Scott

The customer has the problem again. So I could check the folder view.

There is no CRM folder group in the dropdown menu.

Outlook 2013 does not have icons. Outlook 2010 normally has.

    Thank you Shailaja

I put the site in trusted sites, and then the folders showed the icons again.

    Nice.
