Dynamics CRM Online Integrated Exchange On Premise

Hi everyone,

WE have a problem where we have configured a CRM Online environment to an On Premise Exchange environment and all of the users are working (enabled and test and verified passed) except the Domain Admin user in Exchange which is failing with the following Alert in CRM when trying to test and enable:

>Error : System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapException: The primary SMTP address must be specified when referencing a mailbox.

   at System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapHttpClientProtocol.ReadResponse(SoapClientMessage message, WebResponse response, Stream responseStream, Boolean asyncCall)

   at System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapHttpClientProtocol.EndInvoke(IAsyncResult asyncResult)

   at Microsoft.Crm.Asynchronous.EmailConnector.ExchangeServiceBinding.EndFindItem(IAsyncResult asyncResult)

   at Microsoft.Crm.Asynchronous.EmailConnector.FindItemsStep.EndCall()

   at Microsoft.Crm.Asynchronous.EmailConnector.ExchangeIncomingEmailProviderStep.EndOperation()

Anyone have any ideas?

    Hi Drew can you check if the Admin account has been setup with a secondary SMTP address . A secondary SMTP address is an email address that can receive email but is not displayed to the recipient receiving email from the same mailbox?

    We removed the Office365 E3 license from the domainadmin user the test and enable worked even though the user was setup to point to the  On Premise profile.  Not sure why these are tied (doesn't make sense) but it failed continuously until we removed that relationship.
