Outlook Client giving a forms based login prompt rather than Windows credentials based.

We currently have a Dynamics 365 on-premise install running on update 2.1, with IFD and Claims based Authentication enabled.

We have the issue where the Outlook client is prompting for user credentials, seemingly after the configured timeout period of 12 hours.  In our CRM 2011 platform, users of Outlook do not have this issue, as Windows adds the credentials into Credential manager and never re-prompts for authentication.

We have a Development environment and have noticed that when you configure the Outlook Client, the CRM configuration Wizard, pops up the Windows Credentials box asking for the username and password;

If we try connecting to our production environment we get this log on screen;

I have compared all the ADFS settings and am trying to replicated the forms log in prompt in our Dev environment to try and workout what configuration is causing it as we feel this maybe why the outlook client is not adding the credentials into the windows Credential Manager.

    Since posting I have been testing and another factor that was different was oAuth authentication whcih was enabled in Production. I managed to replicate the issue by enabling OAuth in our DEV systen, which then make the outlook connection bring up the forms based authentication prompt.  Seems to be as this article (https://community.dynamics.com/crm/f/117/t/185933) mentions, that re-runing the CRM claims and IFD wizards, resets the OAuth setting back to False.
