Hey guys
I've got an on-premise instance set up with claims-based authentication but no IFD against an ADFS instance
I've been messing around with the Unified Interface and have noticed that the logout button doesn't appear under my user name in the top right. However, on the legacy UI, the logout button does appear. I've done some looking into this and found out that because I'm using ADFS without IFD and I've logged in via Windows authentication I will not be logged out.
My question to the community is why is the logout button appearing in the legacy UI but not the UCI? Is there a way of displaying the logout button in the UCI?
Cheers
Yes, your understanding is spot on!

Hi,
Just for my understanding and just to confirm. Is it the case that Microsoft doesn't officially support using ADFS with Windows authentication and I need to set up the IFD on my Dynamics instance?
Cheers
Hello liamj90,
Yes, the issue is because Microsoft does not support windows authentication for ADFS. You need to enable the web page authentication to prompt for user and password. I am not sure if raising a support case will help because what you are trying is not recommended. You can give this official document a read. It will guide you on the steps to configure ADFS:
docs.microsoft.com/.../setup-deploy-on-premises-pu12
Let me know if this helps!

Hi,
Is this because I haven't got IFD setup on my Dynamics instance and are using Windows authentication to log into Dynamics?
Cheers
Hi,
This is strange.
Please log a support ticket with microsoft.
Hi,
As you can see in the below screenshot, the log out button does not appear in the dropdown when I click on my username when using the Unified Interface:
However, when I switch over to the legacy UI and I click on my user name in the top right I can see the logout button as shown in the below screenshot:
Why is the logout button appearing on the legacy UI and not the Unified Interface and is there a way of displaying the logout button in the Unified Interface?
Cheers
Hi,
I see Sign Out button is visible on UCI when we click on User Name at top right corner.
Do you see this button?
