Remaining Quantity with Posted Qty

Dear all,

I have something interesting.

at production order, I go to bom and go to update tab

there I see some item have remaining quantity but its has posted quantity either.

is there any picking list with quantity minus and those picking list deleted ?

because I cant fount those picking list with minus quantity

Please advice.

    you can create manual picking list with minus qty and post it

    I checked and found nothing for minus quantity.

    I still searching why its has posted qty.

    I wondering why its has posted qty, while there are remaining quantity.

    the requirement is 15, remaining is 15, but why its has 15 at posted qty.

    its not posted yet, why its has posted qty.

    that's my question.

    i'm not asking how to do it.

    Hi Steven,

    I found that there are picking list / issued material for 15. so the posted qty has 15.

    I wondering why the remaining quantity is still 15 at production control, bom action pane, update tab.

    it is because production order has 30 estimation qty, has posted for 15, and user revise the bom estimation qty to 15, so the latest production order ha estimated qty 15, remaining qty 15 and posted qty 15 ?

    need your advice.

    Hi All,

    I found that, if I add raw material but left the estimation qty blank,

    later post picking list with qty 15,

    then back to bom , update the estimate qty to 15, the released qty to zero

    then i will get :

    estimation qty will have 15

    remaining qty is 15

    started qty blank

    released qty blank

    posted qty 15

    it is the right , this case could happen/occur ?

    please confirm with this simulation, if its true, then this is the root cause for this issue.

    When you say "add raw material" is this to the BOM is the quantity the field you are leaving blank or are you estimating the order for quantity 0. Are you releasing the works order and is the BOM you are talking about the BOM on the item or the Production BOM against the production order?

    Yes I would imagine it is feasible to do this, but you are juggling process steps, so the question is why are you doing this.

    Also it does not matter, if you consume 15 and end it then there is 15, the remaining will eventually disappear.

    Hi Steven,

    I still searching the root cause for this issue,

    this morning I got idea to do some simulation for duplicate this issue,

    at demo environment I able to duplicate this issue by doing steps mentioned above.

    I still searching what is the real root cause for this case.

    I just explained that I could duplicate this issue.

    I understand, so not following the process is the issue, but you asked for someone to verify but the instructions you give are ambiguous, I can interpret them a number of ways so you will not get a good answer.
