Scrubbing Fixed Assets and their entries

Posted on by 15
Hello,

I've been performing a data migration via configuration packages for a handful of our companies over the last couple weeks and on the last migration, I've really messed things up. I was given the wrong data for this group of assets and uploaded the completely incorrect accumulated depreciation, life, and acq cost for basically the entire population. I would love to be able to start over, but I am having trouble trying to delete/wipe all of the assets.  I was able to delete a small group of them, but cannot delete those that have been undisposed. I created some fake disposal entries and then was notified that I wouldn't be able to delete assets who had entries in unclosed fiscal years. Luckily, I am only posting entries to the Fixed Asset Ledger and not our G/L otherwise I would be royally screwed. Anyone have any insight on how I can delete these assets so I can restart my migration? Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
You can cancel the posted fixed asset journal entries. Then you can do the needed correction entries.
