Weird custom button is popping up on Ribbon in CRM entity

Hi People,

I have a strange issue with ribbon. There is one custom button visible on Opportunity Ribbon only on Testing environment. 

So I import ribbon from Development to Testing but its not getting overwritten.

Only thing I could imagine is that weird button is from Managed solution from the past and can't be overwritten.

Now I can hide button on Testing with ribbon workbench using display or enable rule.

The problem is as soon as new solution is deployed from Development to Testing, that button starts appearing again and the display rule/enable rules written are vanished.

How to solve this?

    Hi ,

    Similar problem myself also faced in my past project  , your assumptions is correct for me also having managed solution. You need to delete the button directly in your testing environment. So follow below steps -

    -- Create an unmanaged solution and add the opportunity entity over there in the testing environment.

    -- Open the solution with Ribbon workbench and delete the button and do publish.

    -- Close the ribbon workbench and open again with same solution and see the button is still visible or not in the ribbon workbench. If its still exists then right click hide the button.()

    For the development environment while export solution for import to testing environment make sure you deleted the same button from DEV environment as well. So that there is no chances to show the button again after next solution deployment .

    This is one time job , I believe doing above steps will resolved your issue without any issue .

    Hi,

    Can you connect to XRMToolBox;s Ribbon Workbench and "Hide" by right clicking and selecting on Hide when it appears in the Ribbon Workbench and publish?

    Make sure if your hiding it from Form, Main or Sub-grid.

    That's annoying. Should it be possible to remove/delete that button using RWB, or direct removal from Ribbondiff.xml ? (obviosuly after a backup)

    If nothing works - take a Prod/Dev copy & refresh this Test instance sooner.
