Accessing OData feed from a microsoftcrmportals.com portal

We have set up an entity list to be OData enabled, and we can see if when hitting the _oData URL, but when we try to access the collection, we just get the following:

<m:error xmlns:m="schemas.microsoft.com/.../metadata">

<m:code/>

<m:message xml:lang="en-US">An error has occurred.</m:message>

</m:error>

We don't know where to go to find out more information about the error that occurred.  Does the OData feed not work with the new portal?

Thanks

    Hi CChoer,

    I believe there may be a defect in regards to the OData feeds. A fix is ready, but I'm not sure when it will be released. It will most likely make its way out in one of the monthly upgrade releases. Also make sure that you've enabled the odata feeds on any entity lists that you'd like to expose.

    Thanks,

    Adam

    Hi, according to the Portal product team they plan to have it ready to be included in the Update 2 for CRM (which will include a fix for this issue in the Portal).

    At the moment Update 2 is targeted to be released in December

    Regards,

    Amit, IntoIT.

    Hi All,

    Today (mid 2017) I still have the same finding. Maybe this is inked to this issue.

    When I enable the oData feed for a custom entity and leave everything default (a default view, no custom names) I get this error response:

    =========================================================

    {
      "odata.error":{
        "code":"","message":{
          "lang":"en-US","value":"An error has occurred."
        }
      }
    }

    =========================================================

    I am working with microsoftcrmportals icw CRM Online version 1612 (8.2.1.207) (DB 8.2.1.207)

    Is there an update available on this issue?

    Thank you!

    Hi all

    Just in case anyone is still experiencing this problem (June 2020) these are the steps that I took to fix the problem:

    [1] Turn off custom errors for the portal

    [2] Browse to the odata entry point : https://[YOUR_SITE].microsoftcrmportals.com/_odata/account

    [3] In my case the error was : Could not find a View (savedquery) record where savedqueryid equals ….

    After research I found that this means that if there is just ONE Entity List with ODATA enabled but

    the view specified for odata has been deleted (by mistake) from the CRM then this SCREWS UP

    ODATA ON ALL OTHER ENTITY LISTS !!

    The fix : go thru all entity lists and either disable ODATA or fix the View.

    Cheers.
