Reactivate multiple closed leads at a time ..

Hello Everyone,

I am looking for a way to reactivate multiple closed/qualified leads at a time. We converted around 1900 - 2500 lead into the contacts a few months ago manually but now we want those contacts back in our open lead records and since we don't have much time and also reactivating each closed lead manually is a tedious task, we are looking for a way to save time and efforts. Please let me know if any of you have any idea about reactivating multiple leads at a time.

Secondly, is there a way where we can delete 1000 or more records/leads from CRM with a single click. Currently I am only able to delete maximum 250 records at a time.

Any help would be appreciated!

Best Regards,

Ayesha Ambreen

     Hi, Ayesha.

You can write a little application which will reactivate closed leads and another one application which will deleted a couple of leads.

     Hi, Ayesha.

You can't do it in CRM. You have to install Visual Studio 2005 or 2008 and write this application there.

Oh! But I don't know how to use Visual Studio to write these applications. :(

Any built-in functionality in CRM which can help me perform these tasks ?? or any other suggestion ?

    I sincerely appreciate your help.

    Regards,

The quickest way to 'reactivate' would probably be to import them as new leads. For bulk deletion, if you're using CRM Live you're in luck as there is a mass delete option in the more actions menu (http://blogs.msdn.com/crm/archive/2008/04/24/bulk-record-deletion-in-microsoft-crm-online.aspx ). Otherwise it is probably 250 at a time. The only other way I can think of doing it would possibly by linking the leads to some entity where the relationship is parental and then delete the parent record. There's a simple way which uses workflow.

    1. New a workflow which primary entity is "contact".

    2. Set available to run "on demand".

    3. Add step "check condition" where originating lead's status equals to qualified.

    4. Then change the originating lead's status where  originating lead's status equals to new.

    5. Publish the workflow.

    6. Run the workflow on your records (you can multi-select), and then delete the according records.

    7. Repeat step 6 until you have handled all the records.

    8. The end.

    Hope that helps, :).

    Hi Ayesha

for Bulk delete, go to settings>>data management>>bulk delete operation>>create new (you will have to apply a filter on what records you want to be deleted) then set the time.
