Please Give me Example of field where i use validateField() And where i use ValidateFieldValue().
Hi Shivang, Please check this old thread
community.dynamics.com/.../functionality-of-validatefieldvalue
Hi Shivang,
There is no difference between validateField and validateFieldValue method. Both will work same. You can use either one of them.
ValidateField will have argument as field id. ValidateFieldValue will have argument as field name.
Thanks,
Girish S
In that thread only writing about validateFieldVaue().
I want difference between this two.
On the thread send by Mohit, refer to the reply given by Ivan (Vanya) Kashperuk.
Can you Tell me any particular Example field for this both.
As I already said there is no such difference between them.
Below the answer from the thread posted by Mohit.
Generally speaking, there is none. They are doing the same thing, one based on fieldIds, the other based on field names.
This was introduced as part of the "Id-go-away" stream, with the purpose of reducing dependencies on IDs within the app. But later the decision changed to the "deployment-specific IDs", so the old methods were also kept.
Thanks.
