Quick Contact - Edit Options

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hello All,

Is it possible to reorder, add and/or remove items to the quick contact "category" form in CRM? I previously went into Setting > Customize the system > Option Set > Component Type and changed the values for select items to have the items appear in numeric order; however, these changes were unsuccessful.

    Hello Goutam,

I have found and added the new item to the Contact Quick Create form. Now I have a new issue - when the new item's checkbox is checked and the Contact Quick Create form is saved, the item does not save. I have to navigate to the user's profile and recheck the same item and save again. Any ideas?

    Hi Jones ,

Is it multi select optionset ?

I just checked in my trial instance its working for both normal and multi select optionset.

Can you try once more by going to setting --> Customization --> Customization --> Expand Entity -->Forms --> Quick Create Forms --> Double click on the fields -->Go to Details Tab --> Click on Edit --> In the edit window change the order --> Save the field  --> Comeback to quick create forms and then click on Save and Publish.

    --> Press  CTRL + F5.

Hope above steps will resolve your issue , if still not resolve please try create new optionset or add remove optioset field options and add in the quick create forms.

Thank you Goutam. However, I've tried both removing the items, changing the unique value, re-ordering, saving and publishing with no affects to the Quick Add form. The only thing that seems to changes is in the actual form - which what I do not want.

Can you share what your Quick Create Form Editor looks like?

Also, have you tried on another browser?

    See if that might help

Thanks for the Help Ravi, everything you listed i tried: Saving then Publishing, and reordering the listed items using the up/down buttons. The only thing that seems to change is in the actual form, not items on the Quick Quick form.

    Hi,

After changing the sequence, did you publish customization? If yes, try different browser. It could be caching issue as well.

Normally, if you want to change the order of the options, you need to select the up/down arrow to have your desired sequence and then save folloed by publish. Once done, refresh form and see the changes. Refer below screenshot-

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Jones ,

Make sure you are saving the optionset and do publish the form , normally option set options are ordered as pe you set the ordering.

You cam also add remove optioms using JS, Take a look below old thread answer-

    Hi,

Yes, since you talked about removing those, you'll need to remove/hide it from the Quick Create form if you don't want it there.

And, can you show me how your OptionSet looks like? Also, what order are you expecting? Can you show a short example?

    Hope this helps!
