Remove/Delete Address for Customer

Hi,

I am using D365 FO(10.0.12)

I wanted to understand what happens when 'Remove' is clicked in Address from the Customer form ?

Does it trigger a deletion from the addres related tables?

I see the records are present in LogisticsPostalAddress, LogisticsLocation tables even after the address is removed for the customer.

Is there a way to trigger a permanent delete of the customer addresss?

Hi,

When you remove the address, those addresses are then moved to history to maintain data integrity. For example, invoices generated on the past addresses. Why do you want to delete it permanently? OOB AFAIK there is no functionality where it will delete permanently.

Hi,

NO, Dynamics doesn't ask you if yuu are sure or not, instead it will delete directly.

However, you can only delete Primary address =NO

Primary address can not be deleted.

Hi Anitha,

It deactivates the "Location" record. You can look at Classes\LogisticsEntityLocationFormHandler\updateLocationStatus() method to look at the logic.

You can try this for deleting addresses - Organization administration >Periodic >Delete inactivated addresses.

Hi

Check this job to delete address permanently but the code is for AX 2012, at least you can get the hint:

Please note this job will not delete address if it is primary.

Reviving this thread, Is there any way to see all inactive delivery/customer address? not per customer.

Hi Sirch, I don't know if there is OOTB standard form or report that can show all inactive delivery address. In case, you don't find a way, you can create SQL query (if required for few times) and export to excel or create custom form if required all the time.

You can refer to postalAddressDelete method in DirPartyPostalAddressDeletionHelper class for reference to tables.
