Hi guys,

Basically just want to be able to not let anyone qualify Leads until email address contains data.

Is there a way to achieve this?

Cheers,

C

    Hi,

You can write a pre-plugin in pre-update (you can check this also @ setstate message) and check if the email address is available.

    If not throw an exception.

    Regards,

Create a real time workflow  and stop the workflow with the status of cancelled  if email address field does not contain data. This will stop user from qualifying the leads that does not contain email address.

Below post provides detailed information on how to use real-time workflow to stop unwanted updates to the record.

    Thanks guys!

Sorry Pramond I'm not 100% sure what you are referring to, but thanks for the response.

Chitra - thanks, I will look into using this method.

    Thanks!

As far as I know, this would require a plug-in as it is not an out of the box feature.

I use a plug-in in a similar manner on the Opportunity entity that will check if a required field value exists and if not, it will prompt the user to fill out the required field before the user is able to qualify the record.

I can probably provide some code samples if you need it.  LMK but also check out this thread I found here, it may help you get started -

Other option is to use business rule with scope set to entity to restrict user from qualifying the lead without email address.

    Hi Chitra,

There is no 'Entity' option for me under Scope - we use CRM Online (2013), would that be why?

    Thanks,

    C

Thats correct this feature exists only in CRM 2015. Still you can use realtime workflow to restrict qualifying lead when there is no email value.

Go to settings>>Processes>>New>>Workflow>>Real time>>On status change

Check condition if field Email = Contains Data & Lead Status=Qualified

Stop workflow with a status of Cancelled

    Thats it

Hello Prashant, thank you! it works, but it needs to be changed to = Does Not Contain Data. It got me on a good way to solve my issue!
