Sub-production order

Hi Dynamics Community:

I have a BOM which has 1 sub-assembly item

BOM1:  FG001  - consist of BOM lines

              RM0001  (bom line is item)

SFG0001 (bom line is pegged supply)

BOM2:  SFG0001 - consist of BOM lines

              RM0002

               RM0003

I created production order for FG001 and set the status to Estimated, Scheduled, Released and until Started.  I am expecting that another production order  (sub-production order) for SFG0001 will also be automatically created .  In the BOM line  SFG0001, I already indicated it as Pegged supply.

My question what settings control the automatic creation of production order for Pegged supply or how do I create the sub-production order for sub-assembly or semi-fg goods?

I have the same question (0)

Here is the BOM for FG001 which indicate that SFG0001 as Pegged Supply.  In this screenshot SFG0001 is item '1-29-10004-01'

With this BOM setting, once I created the production order for FG001, it wont automatically create sub-production order for SFG0001

    Hi Reign!

When you set up a BOM line as Pegged Supply, at Production order Estimation it creates automatically a new sub-Production order for the sub-assembly or semi-fg.

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamicsax-2012/appuser-itpro/about-line-types#pegged-supply

There is no setting to do that.
You can control if in your default order settings, the sub-assembly has a default order type as "Production" at the warehouse that you are assembling it.

when you do the estimation, you've got an alert? have you checked if it creates a purchase order of it?

    thanks.

    Hi

Thanks for your help.  I changed the default Order Type to Production and when I change the status of the ProdOrd to Estimate, it now created the sub-production order I am expecting.

Why the system depends on the default order settings whether to create a sub-production order or not?  The BOM Line Type that says it is Pegged supply and in the Released product settings the sub-assembly item is set to Production Type:  BOM.
