CRM 2015 Online: BPF make fields read-only

Hi All,

I have a BPF will several stages. I have some business rules that lock some fields depending on the values selected in certain other fields. However, the business rules on trigger on the active stage. Fields that should be read-only in other stages become editable once you move away from that stage. I see you can only access the current active stage in JavaScript too.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how i can get around this?

    If they relate to the same entity then I'd consider putting the fields onto the form itself and use business rules to hide and display and make editable/mandatory based on the process stage.  If you want to prompt people to make sure they've been filled in you could put a 'XXX Fields Updated' 2 options field onto the ribbon to prompt looking at other parts of the form to ensure completion.

    Hi, thanks for your comment - that wont work as when i've moved away from a stage - the fields that were read-only no longer are.

    I wanted to try and keep the fields read-only regardless of which is the active stage.

    Looking around it doesn't look like this can be achieved in a supported way :(.

    When you put them on the form itself (not on the BPF ribbon)?

    They should show as read only without any issues.
