How to show custom activity entity in dynamics calendar?

Hello,

I have noticed that only Appointment activities can be seen on the dynamics calendar (not phonecall, not email). I have a custom Activity entity named Visit, I want to show it on dynamics calendar, how can I do it? I have already gone through - https://community.dynamics.com/crm/f/117/t/164488

but I am not sure how to implement some workaroun explained in above link, Or may be it is very old article, any one has latest trick to do so?

Hi Ashish,

You can't really have a custom entity showing in the standard Dynamics 365 Calendar (at least in a supported way). The only other option is to use a custom calendar control similar to the advice given here:

community.dynamics.com/.../164488

You could build a customer Dynamics 365 Calendar control similar to this one:

mscrm.guru/.../dynamic-calendar

Alternatively you can build your own as a web resource embedded in Dynamics.

All the above options would require customisation of various levels.

I think it is not possible in the last version too. In previous versions I am sure.

The reason is Dynamics calendar reads only some entities derived from Activity, i.e. Appointment, and it is able to read only a specific date field of these entities. So, because it is not customizable , it is not possible extend it to other custom Activity entities.

You can manage(add, edit, delete) your Custom Activity Entities using AppJetty's Calendar 365. You can also check functionality at AppSource.
