Have non-compliant solution in 2013...what will happen when I upgrade to 2015

Hello all:

I am on 2013 Online, and getting ready to upgrade to 2015.  However, when I upgraded my sandbox and tried to import the various solutions from Production, I had one solution fail as not being 2015 compliant.  But in another thread, it was stated that if you have a 2011-compliant solution correctly installed and then upgraded to 2013, then this solution should work as long as the vendor used CRM 2015 supported methods.  So, I guess my concern is to find out if this vendor did use those methods.

If I am reading this correctly then, I should be able to upgrade my production instance to 2015 if the previous paragraph works out, even though I cannot import/install this particular solution in to a 2015 sandbox.  Can anyone confirm this?

    Hi Rob,

Sorry, I cannot confirm this.  I think you should having the solution ported to CRM 2015, otherwise you might end up in troubles some time later.

What error message (details) did you receive when you tried to import the solution on the 2015 sandbox (just curious)?

    Bas:

The error tells me that this solution is not compatible with Dynamics CRM 2015.

    Hi Bob,

I had exactly the same problems as you, if this solution does not mess around with entities where the hierarchic exist such as contacts, account, products, etc, i don`t see a problem in "hammering" the version of the solution and try to import.

See here how to change the version of the solution.

Make a backup of the DB and do this on DEV and make sure nothing will be broken.
