My client is receiving this error when attempting to add a new user to Management Reporter. I have queried the SecurityPrincipal and SecurityUser tables and I do not see a user with the Name or UserName. Has anyone run across this message before. We have close to 50 MR users setup and did not have any problems.

Mystery is solved. There is a table called SecurityUser in the ManagementReporter database. There is a column named WindowsSecurityIdentifier. This column represents the SID number in Active Directory. When I queried this table based on the SID number in Active Directory I found that the SID for the user I was trying to add to MR was associated to a different user in MR. I hope this helps the next person who runs across this problem. The IT firms merely changes the id and name of the active directory record when someone leaves and is replaced. We have changed our process for managing users in MR based on this information.
I did see that post and checked for like names. I also verified there was not a blank display name. Perhaps the ID is the same; however, I'm not sure how to compare the ID value against the AD users.
I have actually never came across this issue, although, I believe the previous post sheds a light on an important point related to the "display name", have you seen this Management Reporter - A User with this name already exists ?
