We use a third party document imaging a workflow product with GP Dynamics 2010.  It uses GP Web Services.  The product recently stopped working - only half of the documents that were being added to transactions successfully appeared in GP.  The technical person from the third party s/w company spent a significant amount of time investigating the problem and came back with this response:

"GP web service was crashed when you processed large size batch and after that it was mashed. After all troubleshooting I found that GP Web Service is not working, I have restarted Web Service which helped to resolved the issue."

We don't have a lot of experience with GP Web Services.  Does anyone know if this is a common problem and how to prevent it?  Is there some type of import limit?

    If this happened one time Carla I would not worry about it. It is difficult to try to determine the root cause of something like this because there aren't a list of possible causes it really depends on each environment. However if just simply restarting the Web Services service resolved the issue that means Web Services was broke, if it was you would have had to uninstall/reinstall it.

    I would saw maybe when the SQL instance was restarted the Web Services service wasn't restarted as well. So therefore SQL and Web Services got out of synch with each other. This is the only thing I can think of, hope it helps.
