Adjusted Hire Date - Purpose?

All,

Would like to know how the "Adjusted Hire Date" in employee card is used in GP. I can see it being used in Reviews. Is there any other purpose of this field in GP, except for any 3rd party products like PTO etc.?

Thank you in advance!

Regards,

Jothikrishnan

The Adjusted Hire Date in Dynamics GP is used when the hire date field does not accurately reflect benefits eligibility because an employee may have left and been rehired or taken a leave of absence.  It provides an alternative date for an employees accruals to be calculated on.

Thank you very much, Harry. Is there a setup which tells the system to calculate benefits based on Adjusted Hire date as I don't see one on few of the screens I checked.

Dynamics GP uses the Adjusted Hire Date by default, when calculating benefits eligibility using eligibility rules. If no Adjusted Hire Date is set, then it uses Hire Date.

    From Dynamics GP Documentation:

Years of Service criteria has been selected, then this selection will limit the employees eligible for this eligibility rule to anyone who has an adjusted hire date equal to or within the range based on the current date. If no adjusted hire date is assigned, the criterion is based on the years of service from the original hire date.

Thank you very much again, Harry. Sorry, I'm aware of usage of that field in PTO and mentioned earlier, but we don't use it( it says module not registered. Looks it requires additional license) :). Otherwise the info you've provided really helps to understand. Thank you!

UPR00100.BENADJDATE is the field that holds this date.

Hi, also look in >Administration >Setup >System >Human Resources.  There are two checkboxes in there to choose whether to use Adjusted Hire Date for Benefits or Seniority.
