Hi,

I want understand how the status value works in appointments. When I try to create an appointment status value is open but, when  I saved it changes to scheduled.

This value depends on date or  depends in other factors? Has anybody know how it works?

Thank you in advance.

I have the same question (0)

    Hi,

When you create an appointment in CRM, the status is by default 'scheduled' - this means that it will show as a conflicting appointment when booking other appointments. If this appointment is marked as 'tentative' in Outlook then it will be changed to 'Open' and will not prevent other appointments from being booked at this time.

    From: https://community.dynamics.com/crm/f/microsoft-dynamics-crm-forum/222788/how-to-change-the-status-of-a-meeting-from-open-to-scheduled

In addition, from the structure of D365, the "Status" change is determined by the "Status Reason" field.

The following is a matching table for "Status Reason" and "Status":

    Value Label State State Label
    1 Free 0 Open
    2 Tentative 0 Open
    3 Completed 1 Completed
    4 Canceled 2 Canceled
    5 Busy 3 Scheduled
6 Out of Office 3 Scheduled

When Status Reason is Busy and Out of Office, Status is Scheduled. So when a new appointment is created, its status is Scheduled.

When Status Reason is Free and Tentative, Status is Open. So when the appointment is marked as 'tentative' in Outlook, its status is Open.

    Hope this Helpful!

    Regards,

    Hi,

It depends on the start and end date field. I belive Microsoft OOB plugin set the status value to Scheduled when you save the record for the first time.

If you want to change this behaiour you can write your own plugin code and change the status based on your business logic.

Please mark my answer verified if this is helpful!
