Lookup custom data from VS Tools for GP?

Posted on by 1,582

I see the sample project from the VS Tools SDK for using existing lookups. But can a person create their own lookup for custom data records?

May I ask, do you do this often or have you found a different paradigm for a user to look-up existing records?

For the situation you are describing, yes you will need to code from scratch.

Indeed, I attended your presentation and thank you. However, perhaps I should phrase my question differently. My goal is to reproduce the functionality of a Dynamics GP lookup window for my own custom data on my own form. Must a person code a custom lookup window from scratch?

    Hi Chad

Steve Endow and I recently gave a presentation at reIMAGINE in which we provided a series of code examples. In Example 1 we demonstrated how to use the GpConnNet.dll library to develop a UI interface library that could be hosted in GP or in a stand-alone executable and can access any SQL Datasource

Hope these examples are helpful to you.
