Installing hotfixes in D365 for operations

Hi

I need to install a hotfix into several environments. Here is a link to the hotfix (https://fix.lcs.dynamics.com/Issue/Resolved?kb=4010981&bugId=3809232&qc=cbd72b8cb75de14ac3240e4b7f0e9e62140a6bffca8e1045f21bd48afba29b64) which is a small modification to a class and table in the Electronic reporting model.

As per the instructions here (https://ax.help.dynamics.com/en/wiki/configuring-and-installing-a-metadata-hotfix-package/) I have prepared the hotfix, tested it in a development environment and checked it into source control.

Is it possible to move just this hotfix change to other environments without moving other code that I have been working on? I have tried creating a deployable package visual studio of the electronic reporting model, but that didn't seem to move the changes.

Any help would be much appreciated

Thanks,
Joe

    Hi Joe Brewer,

Your steps seems to be correct, after installing metadata hotfix you need to create deployable  package and deploy it to sandbox environment, why do you think that changes are not there ? What step did you follow?

    Hi ievgen Miroshnikov

I created a deployable package containing the electronic reporting model from visual studio, uploaded it to the asset library in LCS and applied it to the environment. Looking at the installed updates it looks like it has been installed:

However, the consultant says that the issue that the hotfix is meant to fix is not fixed. It is fixed in my dev environment though.

    Thanks,
    Joe
