is there a way to integrate a as400 file into dynamics GP

There is no out of the box integration for any types of file for Dynamics GP. Integration options include using Integration Manager and Web Services. Integration Manager needs you to have a flat file text or csv format. Web services I think works with xml files.
So if the as400 can fit those file formats and you can map all the fields, then yes there is a way to integrate. Without more information, I can't be of further assistance.
thank you for replying . I currently have a pgm that creates a flat file that i FTP to my pc, i then use the integration manger to push the file into GP. What i want to is reduce the steps and if possible use the integration to retrieve the file from the as400 and make the integration into GP a one step process.
You need to look at Scribe or Smart Connect from eOne. Both those tools could integrate your file with automation.
thanks , but i am looking to build my own tool
Okay, but why recreate the wheel when it already exists?
because my company will not pay for it :)
Client Access 400 can create Excel file and GP Integration Manager can import Excel file into GP
Hi RANCDV,
GP cannot integrate as400 file or any custom file apart from GP predefined files mentioned above by experts.
what my suggestion is:
using VS tools, you can define\create a custom window & through .net code you can read the as400 file values to grid and you can integrate those files through eConnect schema.
Note: eConnect to be installed in your machine
thanks for replying, that is what i am currently doing i was looking for more of a one step process via GP
thanks for the info. i will look into it .
