Inactivate a Vendor Record

When trying to inactivate a vendor we receive the following message:

"You cannot inactivate a vendor record with posted or unposted tranactions"

This vendor has no unposted transactions and we have inactivated other vendors that have posted transactions.

Has anyone experienced this issue and how did you resolve it?

    I have expirence this issue and there could be following reason:

    1-a hang trx related to that vendor in POP or PM transaction open table

    2-All PO's may be closed but have Open status (Inquiry>Purchasing>PO Inquiry), and there could be a transaction that may not be fully paid yet for that vendor

    3-Run Recon on POP to see if that will reslove your issue.

    We do not use POP.  How do I find a hung transaction?

    inquiry>purchasing>payable inquiry, enter vendor ID and select "Open" and "work", if any transaction appears with one of those status then you need to take proper steps so transaction status changes to "HIST", mostly it can be a partial inoivce still sitting to be paid or payment that is partially applied. A document will not have "HIST" status until its fully applied.

    If you do not see any document with "work" or "open" status then you need to look into GP SQL tables, currently, I do not have access to GP application to give you table number to look for hang trx. look for PM work table and run query agains that vendor in SQL. let me know if tha helps. thanks!
