I built an addin for Dynamics GP 10 that appears in the Additional menu on a few windows. This addin runs a process that interacts with a 3rd party application. It doesn't take any client-side manipulation or extra development for each customer, just put the dll in the Addins folder, and it's available.
I'd like to create the same kind of addin for Dynamics SL 7. I've installed SL 7 and started looking through the SDK manual. However, I'm new to SL, and it doesn't appear to be as easy to do as it was in GP.
Is this type of addin possible in SL?

In the Administration module is a selection called menu maintenance.
Remember to get it to work like the reglular SL menu you need 4 levels.
Module (like finance)
Application (Accounts Payable)
Grouping (input, report)
Menu item.
It is also best practice to assign your menu to a group. So you need to create a group (also in Administration module) and assign users to it.
If you created a new screen you have to add permissions for the group to it using Screen maintenance (also in Administration module)
