Hello CRM Experts,

We are having CRM 2011, UR 10. A web portal (ADX Portal) and another application is integrated to MS CRM. The procedure cache and TempDB space is filled up quickly and causing performance slow down. What steps I should follow to troubleshoot the issue? Thank you.

A few things you can do to help your CRM on-prem performance.

Create a tempdb file, one for each physical processor. You can try turning off MaxDOP but a better suggestion is to leave it on and set the threshold a bit higher to start with. You can enable "optimize for ad hoc workloads" as CRM is largely ad-hoc queries. I would increase the starting file size of your tempdb data files and set growth on both your data and log files on all db's to a fixed size, rather than percentage. Separate your log and data files to physically separate drives if they aren't already. Make sure you have a good maintenance plan in place to rebuild/reorg indexes, update statistics etc. Also make sure you've cleaned out the AsyncOperation and WorkflowLog tables per the MSKB support.microsoft.com/.../968520

Procedure cache is reliant on RAM. Make sure sql isn't configured with "Max Memory" setting and if you aren't running at least 32GB of ram on the box, I would consider increasing to at least that amount.

I would also look at what your integrations are doing, is there a time when they could run jobs with fewer people in the system? Could it work with less data?

    Thanks Josh. Will try this.
