Phased revenue for Opportunities

Does anyone know of a way to predict phased revenue from a single opportunity in D365 for Sales.

My client can identify a likely close date on an opportunity and an overall value however the orders they win will generate revenue over a number of months, not all at once.  We cannot see a way to identify the individual revenue elements in say July. August and September - only the overall amount and a close date.

Suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    We've done several implementations with customisations to support this. We use a custom child entity of the opportunity to store the expected revenue by period, with some logic (varies by implementation) to give options to spread the revenue (e.g. spread evenly across all periods), and to ensure the per-period data is in sync with the OOB fields for estimated revenue and estimated close date. The level of complexity can vary, depending on your requirements. For example, if you only need to spread revenue over a few periods, then it may be OK to set this manually, but if you have more periods (for one implementation we had up to 60 periods to manage monthly spreads over a 5 year period), you'll probably need some logic to make it usable

    Similar to Syed, but if you're not using Opportunity line items already, you could add a "revenue recognition" date to Opportunity Products and just make one line for each month of expected revenue recognition (so your "products" become the months you recognize revenue).  Out of the box revenue calculations will still give you your total opportunity value as well.

    OOB has only estimated revenue and closed date and it doesnt give u by phases. What you can do is create stage revenue field and date on each stage and store it and upon closing the deal update the total to the estimated revenue and date.
