Community,
I'm sure that this has been answered but I can't seem to find a solution...
... can't get the Reminder Text from Report 117 to show outside of the Lines portion of any report, including the built-in versions.
...have tried editing custom versions in WORD but Istill can't find the right XML Parts to use.
Admittdely, I'm much less familiar with the RDLC / Report Builder route, but I can't find the correct parts in the DataSet there either.
... can get my text to show but it continually shows as the first lines and not before or after.
I'm also confused between the terms used in the Reminder Text Page (Beginning & Ending Text) versus the relevant XML Parts I see in WORD (Greeting, Body & Closing).
I hope that there is something simple which I am overlooking.
Attached are some pics of dummy data.
Thanks in advance.
Ok, thank you.
No need to apologise. It is my full name after all.
You’re not missing anything per say. This is how the report operates as standard. If you need something else it’s up to you to create it. Being able to adjust layouts in word doesn’t solve all scenarios unfortunately
The greeting, body and closing are all baked into the report code. Just ignore them if you want something else.
My apologies on the name typo ^ , Josh.
Joshua,
Thanks very much for the reply and the suggestions for customization / modification.
I am sorry if I am asking you to answer for Microsoft here but perhaps I am missing something...
Does this report look to be behaving as you'd expect?
It isn't entirely clear to me why a user would want the report to show the reminder text on the lines, yet this IS a built-in report.
Perhaps this report 117 is used also for some other purpose?
Additionally, would you tell me if the XML parts "Greeting", "Body" & "Closing" are matched to any data in BC tables?
I am curious to hear your thoughts on this, as well as the thoughts of others in the community.
Appreciatively,
Anthony
Looking at the code it is data item IssuedReminderLine which contains the beginning text in order of the “Line No.”. It contains all the lines about invoices too though. Only the ending lines sit in a different dataitem called IssuedReminderLine2. The other text you mentioned are not involved. A report extension would be advisable to adjust the data items. Or adjust at layout level by having a condition on different tablix where you show only lines with an amount of 0 from that dataitem - i.e. the beginning text
