Detail Sales Reports Limitation with # of lines?

Does RMS have a limitation to the number of line items that can be displayed/computed for the detail sales report.?

My reason for asking is that, when a detail sales report is generated for the period 31-Oct-2010 to 31-Jan-2011 the totals (Cost, Total Sales, QTY, Etc.) does not match the sum of the reports totals for each month in the given period.

If the detail sales report is generated for any two (2) month period, the totals are correct however when the report is generated for a grouping of three (3) months or more the totals are not correct.

At another store with less transactions each month, the totals generated on the details sales report for the period 31-Oct-2010 to 31-Jan-2011 (Cost, Total Sales, QTY, Etc.) does not match the sum of the reports totals for each month in the given period.

Hence my question for asking whether there is a limitation for line items that can be displayed/computed for the detail sales report.?

Kindly advise so I can have an expert opinion on this matter.

    I have a follow up question to this post where my customer who ran this report, detaield Sales report, does not get the correct profit amount for the entire day in May.  He also has one item where the cost is zero ($0.00) and it gives him profit amount.

    Here are the numbers for the 2 scenarios:

    Total sales - 2266.56

    cost - 937.15

    profit - 1843.34

    total sales - 93.80

    cost - 0

    profit - 153.80

    How did it come up with 1843.34 and 153.80 when it should $1329.41 and 0 respectively.

    Are there any known issues with this report?  He is running version 2.0.0150.

    Hello, yes the detailed sales report does have a limitation to the number of rows it shows.  I logged this with Microsoft back in 2009.  The case id is:

    Microsoft Dynamics Support Incident Number 9381428 : Detailed Sales Report not complete.  

    The answer was that a 3rd party grid is used to render the data and so MS have no control over this.  A message was to be created informing the user that the limit had been exceeded but this has not made it into a hotfix as yet.  You should use a summary sales report instead for analysing large date ranges.  There's one on the customer source library.

    Correction!
