Bug Report - Windows 10 Mouse Setting - NAV 2016 Navigation Pane Scroll Error

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

I can't seem to find a place to report bugs so I'm starting here.

I have NAV 2016 installed. Windows 10 Version 1703 OS Build 15063.0.

Settings->Devices->Mouse->Scroll inactive windows when I hover over them is set to On.

In NAV, when I go to Departments and expand the menu to the point where I need to scroll and I try to use the mouse wheel to scroll, NAV crashes. It does not crash when I set Scroll inactive windows when I hover over them to Off.

I have a Logitech Wireless Trackball M570. Setpoint Control Center version 6.67.83, Driver version 5.90.41.

We finally got Cumulative Update 19 installed and I'm no longer having the issue with the mouse wheel scrolling crashing NAV.

    Thanks for the help!

Thanks again for your help. I have submitted a request to have our NAV updated.

Once this is done and I've confirmed the fix, I will mark it as being answered.

As I said in my previous post I had the same error in build 44365.

I installed cumulative update 18 which is build 48316 and the problem doesn't occur anymore - so my suggestion is to ask your implementer or partner to update your version to cumulative update 18 which is the most recent at the moment.

    Best Regards,

    Marcell

    Hi K1rlian,

Could you please look at the Event Viewer after the NAV Client crashed and share the error log if you can find it?

    Regards,

    First:

    Mouse-Error-2.jpg

Then when I debug in VS 2015:

    Mouse-Error-2.jpg

I reproduced the error using an OEM HP wired mouse.

A co-worker, who as an earlier version of Windows 10, was able to reproduce the error. His took a view tries (rolling the wheel) but it eventually crashed NAV. It crashes my NAV immediately. My co-worker is using the OEM HP wired mouse.
