Hello,
We have GP2010, and we've been using the free portions of inventory for the writing of Purchase Orders. We have not been tracking any info on them, however. As such we have a large quantity of Inventory cards, but the data on them is worthless.
I have found that I can attached an Inventory Class to all of them that renders them DISCONTINUED and then I can remove them as part of a year-end process. There does not seem to be a ‘Mass Class Assignment’ function, though.
Is it possible to try either of the following:
a) Run that script to see if it kills all inventory cards and lets us start fresh
b) Via SQL run a script or something that will add a Class to all inventory cards so I can discontinue them
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

I have the same question (0)I would use the mail merge with word. Here's a blog post that explains the concept. Dump your item master into Excel using SmartList, make a macro for the first one to change the class ID, then mail merge it for the rest of the list.
