I am having trouble configuring the Companion App service to work with the Windows Store App, in GP 2016. BA is working fine from inside the GP client, and SSRS reports work fine for users. However the app from the Windows Store is unable to connect, and there is nothing in the logs that indicate where it is failing. I have made sure the certificate is installed and trust is working - is there some way to test the GP Business Analyzer service that is created upon running the Companion Configurator? I see it running but no logs are produced at the client or server end when the connection fails.
You will not find it as a program as before. It is a collection of reports that get deployed in SSRS. Look for a BusinessAnalyzer.pdf in your GP program documentation folder. A service will be installed on your server and you can access the data through an app on your device.
I do not see Business Analyzer in the install file of GP 2016, have you seen? The question is - how do you install Business Analyzer if it is not available in the install file (forget about the companion services)?Have a look below -
It can be accessed from the setup.exe for the main Dynamics GP install. The option is toward the bottom.
I have not verified that it works on GP2016R2 because of my environment but it should work just fine... it is still listed in installation docs and is available with GP2018RTM.
