How to create non-inventory PO for the samples

Want to create the PO for the samples, the items are /Inventory/ but don't want to create another Item for /Non-inventory/. The items will not be going into inventory, but I want to make sure we are accounting properly.

Unfortunately, as far as I know there is no way, you have to create another new item. . . . You can change the posting group on the PO to post the PO to different GL accounts, but the inventory will increase.

Hopefully other experts can give you better advice.
