Management Reporter - Source system provider unable to complete request

Our customer is getting the following error when generating an MR report.  

"The source system provider was unable to complete the request.  An internal error occurred in the provider.  Additional information is available in the event viewer on the Management Reporter server."

Nothing appears in the Event Viewer.  Where do we go now?  MR errors are SO difficult to figure out!!!

    What version of MR are they using, and are they using the Datamart or the Legacy provider?

    If they are on the Datamart, the first course of action would be to rebuild it.  Here are the steps for that:  community.dynamics.com/.../missing-values-rebuild-your-data-mart-in-management-reporter-2012.aspx

    Also, when you looked in the Event Viewer, did you browse to Windows Logs>>Application?  That is where I usually find my MR error messages.  

    You can also try looking at the various logs in the Configuration Console, to see if they are of any help.

    Hello Lyn we have this right issue but using legacy provider and we have  log, the version is managment reporter 2012 cu13.

    Would you help us fix it?

    I had the same issue after rebuilding the data mart when we added 3 new companies to the system.  We had a corrupt row format.

    1) Make sure you set the company that you create the report for as the default company.

    2) copy the existing row format into a new row format and save it.  Try running the report again.

    Hello Joseph we had use Legacy. This issue fix it change data provider to data mart.

    We had this same issue today.  Only one report was acting up, and we had recently rebuilt the DM.  The fix for us was to refresh the cache.

    MR>Tools>Refresh Cached Financial Data
